The Truth About Wall & Associates

The Truth About Wall & Associates:

These guys are crooks.  The IRS will talk to you and work with you to pay your taxes.  You can talk to them directly.  You don’t need these people; they’re like the government, they’re just taking your money.  They have been on TV and radio telling how they can save you thousands in taxes by negotiating with the IRS on your behalf.

Let me tell a short story of how that works.

My parents, let’s call them Mr. and Mrs. Jones, for purposes of anonymity.  They picked up a windfall of money from natural gas royalties and didn’t set enough aside to pay all the taxes. Basically, at 73 years old, they weren’t accostomed to handling those amounts of money and didn’t know what to do for taxes.  After two years, they were nearly $20,000 behind and the money spent paying off a mortgage and car loans.  They saw the ad for Wall & Associates and, after a phone call, signed an open-ended contract for W&A to represent them to the IRS to reduce the amount of taxes owed.

They made an initial down payment of $500 to get the contract and $2,000 with the contract.  Then they paid W&A $300 per month for the next 18 months for total payments of about $7,500.

The first W&A case worker took all their information over the phone in March.  They then reestablished contact in July, asking that all tax, income and asset records be scanned and sent via email.   This was done.

Then another W&A case worker, assigned a few weeks later, requested the same.  And then a few weeks later, yet another W&A case worker...

Meanwhile, nothing was done except the IRS found the Jones’ in default of their agreed-upon payment plan because W&A told them not to talk to the IRS, not to worry about any letters, not to do anything.  As it is, the Jones’ have also racked up several thousands of dollars in interest and penalties due to inaction and poor advice by Wall & Associates.

Now, 18-months and $7,500 later, Wall & Associates made no progress with the IRS but still wanted a $300 per month payment.  I ended that by negotiating with the IRS myself on behalf of my parents.  The $7,500 stolen by Wall & Associates would have paid off almost half of the amount owed for taxes.

Lines of what?

I think I just realized why no one has picked up this blog title before:

Lines of Lies = Lines O Flies

Speaking of lines; it is what it is.

Response to Jason Pederson, Part 2

Jason,

Thanks for reading my blog.

Your comments on my writing are duly noted and will be considered and applied to my future work.

I'm sure the irony of my approach in my first post was not lost on you: To be publicly humiliated at the beginning and end of the piece without any recourse, because it is a one-way street.  I hope it gives you some understanding of what you're doing to Mr. Hausler.

In a previous statement, you called Mr. Hausler’s unadjudicated case a “Texas technicality.”  By saying so, you’ve just told me, and everyone, that you knew he didn’t have a conviction on record and that you intentionally reported that he does.  You lied to your viewers.  Shameful.  If you have to lie about it to make it a story; it’s not a story.
Now, let's discuss Isaac Barger.  I know this guy, and I've known him as long as I've know Mr. Hausler.  He's a reactionary, hot-headed hick with, as you agree, an agenda.  I do not use my real, full name with you because I fear for my family where Barger is concerned.  I'm sure you don't know the full extent to which he has persecuted Mr. Hausler and his family.  Your involvement is only the latest in a long list of hateful actions that has been going for more than three years now.  Barger would not blink an eye at utterly destroying you and your family, me and my family and anyone else he thought deserved it based on his own skewed principles.  He's just the kind of cowardly sociopath who'd not hesitate to throw a molotov through my bedroom window if he couldn't get some other idiot to do it for him. I don't need my wife or family living in the shadow of that kind of threat.  At  the same time, I can't step aside and let you blithely denounce and crucify Mr. Hausler when you clearly don't know all the facts.
Sure, you have stack of documentation three-inches high.  But you also know, they never write down the things that were done right.  The good deeds don't get documented.  And we all know  the police are better trained than anyone when it comes to lying to cover their own sorry asses.

Here’s what I know from personal experience:  (You’ll understand if I don’t put names with these anecdotes based on what you’ve done.)

The man spends his Sabbaths (Saturday) studying the Torah.

An elderly couple was low on firewood for heating a few winters back.  The old man had the flu and was unable to cut wood.  Being on a fixed income, they could hardly afford to pay $75 or $100 for delivery or worse, use electric heaters and pay that bill.  When Mr. Hausler heard this from a neighbor, he spent his Sunday cutting firewood, a full truckload of which he delivered to the couple, refusing to take any money.  I was there; I helped him unload it.

A young couple with two children had a family emergency in Austin, Texas.  They had no decent vehicle to drive on such a long trip.  Mr. Hausler let them borrow his late model diesel Excursion.  On the return trip, the husband mistakenly filled the tank with gasoline.  They used the last of their money to have the gas pumped out and the tank filled with diesel.  They were flat broke when they returned the truck.  Mr. Hausler “anonymously” put three $100 bills on the dash of their car so the family wouldn’t have to go a week without food and fuel.

A mutual friend had to put a roof on his house after a leak caused considerable damage.  That husband, running short on funds, was attempting, alone, to remove all the old shingles and install the new roof.  Mr. Hausler took a day off from his own job and brought his tools and a helper to the man’s house and helped him finish the roof.  At the end of the day, when the man with the new roof tried to pay Mr. Hausler $50, he refused it, saying, “Don’t worry about it.  One of these days I’ll need some help, or somebody else will.  Help me; help them.  Just pass it on.”

That’s the guy I know.  Thomas Paine once said:   " The only thing required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing."  I can’t, in good conscience, stand idly by while evil is perpetrated on a good man.

Response to Jason Pederson

I’m writing this in response to Jason Pederson’s May 8, 7 On Your Side piece on Jerry Don Hausler called Delayed Justice.
I’ll say this up front; You’re an idiot, Pederson.
This story is nothing more than rumor mongering and self-aggrandizing sensationalism.
If you’d done your job as a journalist, Pederson, you’d possibly have uncovered the real facts in this case and might have even been able to help someone who is being abused by the system and targeted by law enforcement to cover up their own incompetence.  Instead you chose to help yourself by going after the sensationalism and effectively convicting Mr. Hausler without a trial.
Even your headline is a lie.
And now I’ll back that up with facts.
First and foremost, Mr. Hausler has no criminal conviction.  If you’re not familiar with delayed adjudication and how that process works, maybe you should let someone who doesn’t have an agenda report this story.  Or better yet, drop the story because it no longer fits into your career-making, self-promotion file.
The State of Texas had Mr. Hausler on probation for 10 years, starting 25 years ago, during which he fulfilled all the requirements of his probation while the adjudication of his case was in limbo.  (Somehow, you failed to mention that he’s been out of court for 25 years and off probation for 15.)  Once Mr. Hausler fulfilled his obligations and requirements, 15 years ago, the case was allowed to simply die:  He has no conviction on record.  Do I need to repeat that?  I think I do: Mr. Hausler has no conviction.  The only lingering stipulation of his probation was that he register.
Since that time, he has registered and fulfilled all his obligations, cooperating fully with law enforcement in every way.  Jerry Don Hausler is proof that the system can and does work. I’ve known him for 10 years.  He’s one of the good guys.  He works hard, provides for his family and tries to be a positive influence on those around him.
You did manage to get at least one fact right:  This case has been lingering in court for three years.  (Do you think Mr. Hausler’s right to a speedy trial has been violated?)  Now, if Mr. Hausler was the awful, evil, horrible, bad guy you’re making him out to be, then you’d think the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office could make a case in three years.  That they haven’t yet made a case really points to the fact that the VBC sheriff's office screwed up badly.  And they know it.  Did you bother to ask the court why this case has been delayed every time it comes up?  Because they have nothing.
Nothing but hearsay and rumor.  Because of your source.
Your source (Isaac Barger) is nothing less than a scorned woman and a spiteful bitch.  That you fell victim to his line of vindictive hatred speaks very poorly of you.  Barger is an accomplished liar and master manipulator. In my opinion, Barger’s repressed homosexuality and unexpressed desire for a physical relationship with Mr. Hausler turned him into a vengeful little punk who not only convinced you that this was a just cause; he’s also the reason the VBC sheriff’s office started this fiasco in the first place.
Barger has actually worked very hard and very long to defame, demoralize and force the entire Hausler family into a state of destitution. He’s targeted Mr. Hausler’s wife and children as well as Mr. Hausler himself with his vengeful and spiteful acts.  In other circumstances, he’d be labeled a stalker.  You, Pederson, led your news organization to aid Barger’s vendetta against Mr. Hausler and his family.  You should be ashamed to make such a rookie mistake.
That might be enough editorializing for now.
Let’s get back to some facts.
Did you know that your source, Isaac Barger, was forced by police to return a stolen tractor to Mr. Hausler? I’m guessing that didn’t come up when you interviewed him.
That’s a fact.
Based on hearsay evidence and rumors, Mr. Hausler has been arrested three times.  Last year, he was arrested by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, held for two weeks and denied bond.  Denied bond.  Only to be released by the judge, once it became clear they had no reason to hold him.  Even murderers get out of jail on bail!  (A real news organization might find this newsworthy, so I’m going to send it to Channel 11.)
If you've read the Civil Suit against the Mason's where all this allegedly went down, and I have no doubt you had it supplied by your source, once again you're falling victim to people who are willing to lie for personal gain (money.)  If you'd done just a little more research, you'd find Mr. Hausler was actually tried for two counts of indecency with a minor and was not convicted. No conviction. The courts did not convict this man.
But you already have.  That makes you part of the problem.
Your so-called news piece is nothing less than a huge injustice to Mr. Hausler and his family.  The fact you’d put a man and his family through something this awful based on hearsay and rumor tells me, and everyone who reads this, exactly what kind of asshole you are.
And you’re an idiot, Pederson.

(You can delete this, but I will post it and re-post. In social media, it will never die. )
